My life has been so busy for the last few years, getting married and having kids, trying to start graduate school while working full time, preaching once a month, not to mention wasting time blogging. However, my personal life has suffered – I don’t exercise, I don’t get enough time alone, nor enough time alone with my spouse. What to do?
Well, simplify, but how? The best way I know is by writing a mission statement. I did this about three years ago using the excellent book, The Path: Creating your mission statement for work and for life by Laurie Beth Jones. I don’t have an updated mission statement, but I may start with my previous one:
To promote health and healing through practice, performance, and pedagogy.
What about you? Do you have a personal mission statement?
